"Larch" Arnac Bay Arapahoe WD was born and bred on a horse farm in West Sussex, England by Chrissie Mayhew who's been breeding Chesapeakes in the UK for nearly 40 years. Larch, and the rest of the Arnac Chesapeakes (with a spaniel or two thrown in) work as a team with Chrissie on driven shoots. The pack works long days most of the week throughout the season. Larch now has 7 full seasons of experience in which she has proven her worth on the team. Chrissie shares the following on her website:  "Larch thinks she is a spaniel when out picking up: she goes through, over and under anything to get her bird and never tires. She ranges further than I would like her to at times, but always comes back with a bird that would have otherwise been missed."

In 2009, Larch was awarded Best Bitch at the Swedish Chesapeake's Club's annual show under U.S. Breeder/Judge Robyn Haskin. (Her littermate, Dill, was awarded Best of Breed.)  And, in March of 2015, at the age of 7, Larch was named Best Bitch at Crufts by UK Breeder/Judge Margaret Woods.
